Well, things have certainly been hectic to say the least. I don't have a lot of time right now to give you a wonderfully written synopsis as to the past few weeks.. but I think a few basic bullet points will suffice in the meantime.
Current situation: I've been living in Paris for almost 3 fantastic weeks. My amazingly generous friends have allowed me to sleep at their apartment. I bought an air-mattress and have set up camp in their living room. Living out of a suitcase is not all its cracked up to be, but alas, I cannot complain.
Future living situation: I found an apartment a few weeks ago. My friend and I will be living together. He's a crazy flamboyant Australian man... I'm a crazy female Jew. Living together in this apartment is sure to be similar to the TV show Will & Grace. Cannot wait! I move in this Wednesday! Yeehaw!! (This also means that I will finally have more access to the internet-- and thus better blogging) Our place is a spacious, well lit, 2 bedroom, 4th floor walk up apartment in the 15th arrond. bordering the 16th and 7th. If you walk down my street, you can see the Eiffel Tower. There are awesome shops all up and down the street. I'm talkin' cheese shops, butcheries, wine shops, bakeries... the works.
Employment: Still unemployed, but I've been interviewing for several companies. I was offered a position at one company, and I'll let them know my decision tomorrow. More updates soon.
Life: I love Paris. So much. I feel wonderful every day. I've been exploring different neighborhoods whenever I can. A few highlights: Saw the Chinese New Years parade with some friends and ate in Chinatown afterwards. Yesterday, I went out to American brunch with American friends. We stood in line for close to 2 hours at this one American diner, and then ate ourselves silly. Then we wandered into the Marais (the Jewish quarter) and low and behold, it was Purim! Cute kids were dressed up. Men were trying to get people to put on Tefillen. People dancing in the street and lighting firecrackers. I bought Hamentaschen. Deeelicious. Can't wait to continue photographing the quirky things I see around this city. I am genuinely happy here.
More blogs to come. Hope everyone is doing well!!!
Will & Grace reference was hilarious! Can't wait until you upload pictures.
